Poem of the week – A reed in the wind – By Adeola Adeoti

this stomach infrastructure

miasma in tropical cities,

arresting the eye of the continent,

these wolves in sheep’s clothing

dangling porridge to seize birthrights

this ill men with head as round as an empty

well

running half breath like a broken paravane

eroding all the glimpse in the crystal ball

with color riot canons

distended philosophies

and blood clotted nails

sallow promises

that reeks from a mouth

ridden with halitosis

canvassing on a shrunken

pole with words flying

like a reed in the wind
